Early Career Clinician & Scientist Summit
Applications are now closed for the ACTRIMS Early Career Clinician & Scientist Summit. The Summit is held in conjunction with the ACTRIMS Forum 2026 in San Diego, California.
ACTRIMS is committed to fostering the careers of young investigators and clinicians by offering mentorship and educational opportunities to drive growth and innovation in the field of MS.
For the first time, the annual Neurology Resident Summit in Multiple Sclerosis and Young Scientist Summit in Clinical Neuroimmunology will be held together in-conjunction with the ACTRIMS Forum 2026, forming the ACTRIMS Early Career Clinician & Scientist Summit. The event will take place February 3–4, 2026, in San Diego, California. See below for details on the goals, target audiences, and application instructions for the Resident and Young Scientist Summit tracks.
Accepted Early Career Clinician & Scientist Summit participants will attend Summit programming on February 3 and 4, receive complimentary registration to the ACTRIMS Forum 2026, a hotel room for the duration of the Summit and Forum, and roundtrip economy airfare to the meeting location. As a North American organization, preference is given to applicants from the US and Canada. Acceptance of international applications is decided on a case-by-case basis.

Due to the educational nature, attendance is reserved for accepted Summit participants. Industry Delegate and Medical Science Liaison/Researcher registration is prohibited.

The goal of the Neurology Resident Summit track is to primarily educate fourth-year medical students, PGY-2 and/or PGY-3 residents about:
State of the art MS therapeutics and research
Opportunities for training in fellowship programs
The spectrum of careers that are attainable in MS research and clinical practice
The Resident Summit, chaired by Dr. Benjamin Segal, provides a historical perspective on the management of MS, an overview of future directions in MS therapeutics, expert panel discussions, and networking opportunities to discuss careers in clinical and investigate neuroimmunology.

The goal of the Young Scientist Summit track is to bridge the gap between bench and bedside research, fostering collaboration between PhD investigators and their physician colleagues. Attendees will learn more about:
MS diagnostic criteria
Clinical subtypes
Epidemiology
Human neuropathology
Animal models: strengths and weaknesses
The current therapeutic landscape in MS
Mechanisms of action of disease modifying therapies
Applicants may be graduate students (Masters, PhD, MD/PhD), medical students, research associates, postdoctoral fellows, or junior faculty with a research interest in MS.

Abstract Submission and Poster Presentation
ACTRIMS encourages applicants to the Early Career Clinician & Scientist Summit to submit their abstracts to the ACTRIMS Forum 2026. Accepted Summit participants with abstracts accepted for poster presentation at the Forum will be eligible for judging during the Forum poster session(s) and a poster presentation award.
